The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father,
who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive
those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.

The Lord’s prayer is a treasure and mainstay in our daily Christian spiritual life. By praying it we call on God as Father, which is a true gift in itself and is the first prayer to boldly do so. Through it, we also submit ourselves to Christ and His will for the world and for our lives. According to Met. Anthony of Sourouzh, through this prayer, we see the whole meaning of the life of man.
